Sancho Bats Last

sometimes
shapes
are
formed by shattering
here sturdy
brick
and concrete
contrast
with the fragility
of glass
in the face of
well hurled stones

destruction as a pastime
not altogether unlike baseball

whether the pitcher hits the stone
or the stone hits the pitcher
it’s bad for the pitcher
big ears or no
