Live End

--

a long walk around the corner
from the railroad to the main drag
how can I not be drawn in by
this gift of bright sunlight
past a valley of shadow

where lines upon lines
and right angles
echo each other
in contrast

at the end of the line
a few railcars
a traveling gallery
of spray-painted goodness
a visitor from points far beyond

this scene a still life, today
with motion implied
the end of the line
just another beginning
this dead end a place
for turning around
