Fade to Green

© Matthew Word Bain

left unoccupied
physical forms
appear to decay
upkeep falls down
grass grows tall

wandering between
equilibrium and
is constant
a dance
a process
eternal return
coming and going
between death and life

inattention to physical form
sets the stage for renewal
management returns
to the substrate
what lies beneath
this thin veneer

the river is never
the same river
and always it flows
